Donation Policy
Last updated: 03/30/2026
This Donation Policy explains how donations made to Hand in Hand Humanity are processed, how funds are used, and how certain situations such as donation errors or refund requests are handled.
By making a donation through our website or fundraising platforms, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
1. Voluntary Contributions
All donations made to Hand in Hand Humanity are voluntary contributions intended to support humanitarian initiatives and the general mission of the organization.
Donations help support activities such as humanitarian relief, community support initiatives, operational costs necessary to deliver those initiatives, and the development of programs that benefit vulnerable communities.
2. Donation Confirmations
After a donation is successfully processed, donors will typically receive a confirmation email that includes:
• the donation amount
• the transaction date
• a confirmation or transaction reference number
Donors are encouraged to retain this confirmation for their records.
If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact us to ensure the donation was processed correctly.
3. Tax Receipts
Official charitable tax receipts are issued only when the organization is legally eligible to provide them under applicable laws and regulations.
If tax receipts are available for a specific donation or fundraising initiative, this will be clearly indicated on the donation page and/or within the confirmation message.
If no tax receipt information is displayed, donors should assume that a tax receipt may not be available for that donation.
4. Use of Donations
Hand in Hand Humanity strives to direct donations toward the initiatives or funds selected by the donor whenever possible.
However, in certain circumstances, adjustments may be necessary. These situations may include:
• a project reaching its funding goal
• a project becoming unavailable
• changes in humanitarian needs
• unforeseen circumstances affecting the project
In such cases, the organization reserves the right to redirect donations toward similar initiatives or toward areas where assistance is most urgently needed, while maintaining the overall intent of the donation.
If a fundraising campaign receives more funds than required, excess funds may be allocated to similar humanitarian initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission.
5. Payment Processing
Donations made through the website may be processed using secure third-party payment providers.
These payment providers operate under their own security and privacy policies.
Hand in Hand Humanity does not store complete payment card information on its servers.
Processing fees may be charged by payment providers. In some cases, donors may be given the option to help cover transaction fees during the donation process.
6. Refund Policy
Because donations are often directed quickly toward active humanitarian work, donations are generally considered final and non-refundable.
However, refund requests may be reviewed in limited situations, including:
• duplicate donations made in error
• incorrect donation amounts caused by a technical issue
• unauthorized transactions (subject to verification)
Refund requests must typically be submitted within 14 days of the donation date.
Each request will be reviewed individually, and approval of refunds remains at the discretion of the organization.
7. Donation Errors
If you believe that a donation was processed incorrectly or that an error occurred during the transaction, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can review the issue.
When contacting us regarding a donation error, please include:
• donor name
• donation date
• donation amount
• transaction confirmation number (if available)
This information helps us locate the transaction and address the request efficiently.
8. Fraud Prevention
Hand in Hand Humanity reserves the right to review donations in order to protect against fraudulent activity, unauthorized transactions, or misuse of payment systems.
In certain circumstances, donations may be delayed, declined, or reviewed for verification purposes.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Donation Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in operational practices, legal requirements, or improvements to donation processes.
The most recent version of the policy will always be available on this page with the updated date.
